NEW: Apply Online for CTF
Please use our new online application for Conference and Travel Funds. We're no longer using Adobe Sign.
NCORE is one of the most popular conferences for educators. As a result, we require supplemental questions during the application process. (These questions will appear automatically on the new online application for Conference and Travel Funds, if you indicate that you are applying for NCORE.) The supplemental questions serve two purposes: as a selection rubric in the event of more applicants than number of available awards, and as an application for any potentially available Equity Office scholarships.
If you plan to apply for NCORE, please read all the instructions below on this webpage.

NCORE Funding Process
If you can pay for attendance to NCORE 2025 using an alternative funding source outside of the CTF funds and Equity scholarship, please consider doing so. This will provide an opportunity to attend to one of your colleagues.
The Conference and Travel Funding Committee can provide 20 faculty awards for up to $2000 and 10 classified professional awards for up to $1600.
- The number of awards offered is about double what is apportioned in our funding and is made possible by rollover funds remaining from COVID.
- The amount of the awards is contractual and is the yearly limit available per employee.
- These are the same numbers and funding approach the committee used last year for NCORE 2024.
Supplemental Questions
To apply for CTF funding for NCORE, be sure to indicate that you are going to NCORE on the first page of the new application, which will ensure you are asked the supplemental NCORE questions. In the event of more applicants than number of awards, the CTF committee will use the supplemental questions as a selection rubric. The CTF award provides the foundation for funding your attendance to NCORE.
If you are selected for a CTF award by the committee, your application materials will then be passed to the Office of Equity for consideration for any potential scholarship funds in addition to your CTF funds. (The Office of Equity is working diligently in their search for additional funds to help you defray the high cost of attendance to NCORE. More information will be announced as it becomes available.)
Please notice that some of the questions on the application ask about your willingness to share what you have learned when you return from the conference. This is an expectation connected to both CTF funding and to the scholarship. Once this process is finalized, you will receive an award letter that includes your CTF award amount and notification of any additional scholarship amount.
Talk With Your Manager
You will be asked during the process of completing the application to talk with your dean or manager about whether they have additional departmental, division or grant funds that can be used to fill in the gap between your CTF/scholarship awards and the actual cost of attendance. NCORE is expensive and this third source of funding is helpful, so please make time to have this conversation.
In addition, you will talk with your dean or manager about whether you can use their ProCard to reserve your conference hotel, register for NCORE, and purchase your flight to and from New York City. A ProCard is a district owned Visa card attached to a specific budget code.
- Keep in mind that division ProCards have low limits and that your dean may not have remaining space on their ProCard.
- Provided you are staying a conference hotel that is fully refundable, it may be possible to make this reservation on a ProCard before you have received your CTF award letter. (They are easily cancelled and fill up quickly.)
- We recommend waiting to register for the conference and purchase your flight until you have confirmation of your CTF/scholarship funding. The funding process is specifically designed to give you notice before the early bird conference rate expires. If you make flight reservations with a ProCard, you need to ensure that you purchase fully refundable tickets.
Academic Services ProCard
Because many deans will not have the ability to use their ProCards in this way, a limited number of reservations can be made on the Academic Services ProCard on a first come first served basis. Jose Juarez will hold office hours (Admin 130) during the month of March to facilitate this process.
- Tuesdays, 11 a.m.-noon
- Wednesdays, 1-2 p.m.
- Thursdays, 2-3 p.m.
If you are not able to come to Jose’s office during these times, contact Jose at juarezgonzalezjose@deanza.edu to make an appointment.
Using a ProCard for Hotels
If you use a ProCard to make hotel reservations, you will need to have an authorization form from the conference hotel filled out by the card holder, in order to use the same ProCard to pay your hotel bill when checking out at the end of the conference. Jose knows how this works and will be able to help you with this process if you use an Academic Services ProCard, or he can help your dean or manager and administrative assistant understand the process if you use their ProCard.
Your award letter will give you instructions on how to apply for personal and ProCard reimbursement when you return from the conference. The conference is in early June and you can expect personal reimbursement during the summertime.
Thank you for taking the time to read this lengthy explanation. We hope that you consider applying for NCORE, and we wish that we had the resources to send you all and pay for the whole cost of attendance!
