Discover Your Village!

If you want to succeed in your academic journey, it helps to know where to begin. At De Anza, your Guided Pathways Village is a great starting point for the whole college experience!

Your Village is a supportive community of students, faculty and staff members who share your interests and goals.

  • Each Village offers events and fun activities keyed to your major and related subjects.
  • It's also a central place to find relevant information and services – including degree and transfer maps, which can help you save time and make steady progress toward your goals.
  • Learn more about De Anza's six Villages below!

FIRST – Find the right village

How do you find the right village? It's easy: If you’ve already declared a major, you’re in a village! Each village is organized around one of the subject areas listed below. These are broad areas that include a number of related majors – so you can explore a variety of pathways and career opportunities related to your interests.

Not sure you’re in the right place? You’re not locked in to any major or village. Feel free to check out any of the village subject areas and speak with a counselor about changing your major, goal or village. Click the buttons here to EXPLORE THE VILLAGES and then complete the online form to JOIN YOUR VILLAGE!

NEXT – Check out your Village Center and Canvas site

Each of the Villages has a physical space on campus, known as the Village Center, where you'll find a community of students, faculty and staff members who share your interests, along with services and resources that are relevant to your major. It's a place for activities, events and hanging out.

Find your Village Center

Each of the Villages also has its own Canvas site, where you'll find announcements, resources and other useful information

  • Once you're logged in, look for an invitation to join your Village Canvas site.
  • If you don't see an invitation in Canvas, use the online "Join Your Village" form to make sure we have your information.

THEN – Find the path to your goal!

Each village has a set of degree and transfer maps for the majors and goals available in its subject areas. These maps will show you which courses to take, quarter by quarter, so you can work efficiently to reach your goal – whether it’s earning a degree or certificate, or transferring to a university in your major.

You'll find the degree and transfer maps posted on the list of all academic programs: Click the name of the subject or program and then click to view the "Degree Map" or "Transfer Map" for the subject you're interested in.
